We develop systems for smart and green cities. We offer services of complete documentation for investment construction, management and construction supervision services, maintenance of quality systems and environmental monitoring during operation. These services are rendered through cooperation of several departments, whereas large integrated projects are managed by the Design Department.
Services relate to power grids (gas pipelines and gas installations and heat supply networks), waterworks, wastewater treatment plants, waste storage facilities, waste incineration plants, and public buildings. The advantage is that all services can be provided by own competences of experienced teams specialized in various fields. Development of projects based on the principle of sustainable development, circular economy, and application of resource efficient solutions requires the inclusion of technical, natural and social professions, constant work, innovation and inclusiveness. Design documentation is prepared according to investor’s request and in compliance with instructions of international financial institutions, which implies close communication with stakeholders and the public during project preparation.
The Republic of Croatia has a long tradition of using district heating systems. From the very beginning, EKONERG has been working on development of district heating in the cities of Croatia and the region. We have developed a model for integrated optimization of energy supply of urban environment (ENOPUS), at the level of urban districts and systems. The model was first used to optimize the cities of Zagreb, Sarajevo, Skopje and Karlovac. We design heating and hot water pipelines and gas networks, energy storage facilities in district heating stations (heat accumulators, electric boilers). Our maintenance management information system is applied successfully in district heating system of HEP d.d. and water supply system of the city of Rijeka. We conduct construction supervision and supervision of quality systems establishment in municipal utility companies. More recently, an increasing number of services have been related to sustainable waste management, development of waste avoidance system, recycling and recovery projects, energy use and waste disposal.
